Educause 2008

For the remainder of the week, I’ll be in Orlando, FL at Educause. We flew out tonight (Monday) and will be here for the rest of the week. From what I’ve seen of the conference schedule, I’ll be extremely busy, and I’m excited to see what I can learn.

For those of you who might have found this blog through twitter, you might not know who I am. So a a brief bio: Born and raised in New Hampshire, I attended, and graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL in May. During my 4 years there I worked for ETS (the Education Technology Services is a tech/AV hybrid department at MBI). After graduation, I was hired to work full-time. My title is Service Desk Technician, and basically I’m one of two full-time service desk employees under the Service Desk administrator, with about 10 part time technicians.

In my previous part-time position in ETS, I mainly did audio, visual, and computer repair, with a special focus on Crestron controlled smart classrooms (we installed about 50 during my time there).

Now I focus on maintaining the Education department’s internal and external websites (my.moody.edu and www.moody.edu) as the Education Web Liason. I also work with supporting Campus Solutions for Education, on going Smart Classroom support, as well as general technology support and consulting for the Education department.

On the side I do computer consulting, mainly computer repair and training work. And I’m currently a volunteer at my church in Chicago as the “Children’s Ministry Director”. My two of my main life passions after my faith would be people and then technology.

Feel free to contact me at anytime via email (david.j.quigley@gmail.com), twitter (www.twitter.com/iud), or cell (txt or phone 603-801-4522).
