I’ve been doing some research lately on the state of online bible classes, courses, and studies. Partly because of the web work I do and my interactions with the online degree programs at Moody Bible Institute, I’ve been asking myself what does it look like to offer an online bible course or degree? There are many sites out there that offer these types of classes and courses for free even. So is anyone doing a really good job at it?

I’ve started working on a collection of them here: (note I don’t endorse any of these or even claim to know what they are teaching in their courses!)

A simple search on Google for “online bible class” brings up:

2. http://www.bible-study-free.org/
3. http://www.mercydrops.com/
4. http://www.christianet.com/onlinebible/bibleschool.htm
5. http://www.christiancourses.com/

Now of all of these sites, only the last one seems to be looking moderately well maintained, and I don’t say that to degrade those who are working on the other sites. I’m just trying to point out the difficult state these sites are in.

It really seems like there could and should be a better source than these that provides quality teaching that is available to anyone, right?
